the longest I've went was 8 1/2 hours a long time back. did both upper arms (flames) and a large tribal acoss the back of my shoulders. very bad mistake as it was very painfull and hard ass hell to sleep.
I'll try and get a pic of the continued work on my Spawn in a bit. 3 1/2 hours. doesnt look like a lot got done, but on the chain and the highlights, there is four colors all blending to make the right shades and the red pouch/thingie on his leg is very detailed. gonna take a while to get it done (24 hours), but wait 'til its completed! gonna be a masterpiece.
Ok, here's the pic. unfortunatly its not a great pic due to the fact I've got Aquafore on it to keep it moisturized and you cant see the detail all that well with the flash....but you can see how well its going......

thank god the dude isnt heavy handed. he also owns a company where he makes and sells the machines. his equipment is so well made that it only runs on about 4 volts and something about a special spring in it or something takes some of the bounce from the needle from you back to the machine. its incredible smooth and not too bad when he inks you. here's his website in case you'd like to see some of his stuff. He's Ed of the duo with Jason. he's highly thought of in the tat world and his equipment sells like mad
